Retirement Living TV Empowers Mature Adults To Protect Themselves Against Fraud

Retirement Living TV (RLTV) announces its first acquisition, an innovative and gripping series called Fraud Squad TV. It is dedicated to the prevention and awareness of fraud towards 50+ adults. According to the Federal Trade Commission, nearly 25 million Americans are victims of consumer fraud each year and older adults are prime targets for con artists and criminals.

Fraud Squad TV empowers viewers to protect themselves from the perils of fraud while at the same time providing them with fast-paced and engrossing entertainment. The program airs weekly on Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. on RLTV.

“Fraud is a multi-billion dollar industry and mature adults are especially vulnerable. This is a subject that affects us all directly or indirectly,” remarked Brad Knight, CEO, RLTV. “Retirement Living TV’s acquisition of Fraud Squad TV stands as an example of our continued commitment to provide our audience with relevant information and powerful entertainment.”

Tom Hnatiw and Lea Thompson (former NBC Chief Consumer Correspondent) will host episodes that investigate fraud in a number of areas including: telemarketing and home improvement scams, identity theft, pyramid schemes and mortgage, insurance and charity fraud. The hosts introduce and comment on true-to-life scenarios that expose the dark side of criminals and the methods that they use to take advantage of trusting individuals.

“Fraud Squad TV illustrates that anyone can be a victim. Unlike other investigative shows, it doesn’t use scare tactics. Instead it works to empower viewers to protect themselves,” said Elliot Jacobson, VP of Programming and Production, RLTV. “Early testing of the show has been extremely positive, so much so that we’ve entered into discussions for another season.”
